Getting started in uSync is simple. In a few quick steps, you’ll be set up with a profile and set of tools to create, discover, and share.

To resister your profile, you’ll need to:

  1. Enter your email address, name, date of birth, and phone number. Then, accept the legal terms.
  2. Select a minimum of 6 interests. uSync will deliver relevant user generated content to you based the interests you choose. Your choice of interests will help other users to find and connect with you based on your interests. You can go back and change these later.
  3. Upload an Avatar and Cover Image. The size recommended for the Avatar image is 500x300 pixels or larger. For the Cover Image, which will be bigger and show behind the Avatar, we recommend 1920x1080 or larger.

After finishing signing up check out your profile. uSync used your sign-up information to start your profile. Here’s some things you can do to make it personal using the tools uSync provides.

  1. Add text to your About section. Simply click on the area below your Avatar and enter anything you’d like to share about yourself.
  2. Add images to the Gallery section. You can also organize these into albums, like if you have a number of photos or movies from a recent trip you took. You can add descriptions to each item by clicking on it.
  3. Fill out the Long Story Short section. This is a timeline of your milestones regarding career, education, awards, and events you’ve attended. Go ahead and brag about the things you’ve done.
  4. Below Long Story Short, list what you’ve done, what you know, what you like, and what you’re good at. Then, add any interests that you want others to know about.

The prompts in sign-up are for your benefit. Taking a few minutes to pick your interests, select awesome photos and avatar will accelerate the making of your initial profile.

Once you’ve filled out your profile as much as you want, take some time to explore the content uSync has to offer. Your feed will display  Stories, People, Crowds, Events, Music, and more. The content you see is weighted based on your interests and how you engage with the community. We’ll be covering engagement in a separate article.
